Precinct Representation in Lake County
The structure and membership of the Republican Party in Florida begins at the precinct level. This is controlled by a combination of state law and Republican Party Rules.
Each Precinct is allowed to have one Precinct Committeeman and one Precinct Committeewoman. When the number of registered voters in the precinct exceeds 1,000, an additional one Precinct Committeeman and one Precinct Committeewoman are permitted. For each additional 1,000 registered voters (of any party), an additional Precinct Committeeman and one Precinct Committeewoman are allowed.
Lake County has 92 precincts. Depending on the population of registered voters, each precinct is allowed between 2 to 24 representatives.
The chart below (NOT UP TO DATE) shows how the representation is distributed. The number of registered voters changes daily. Only the Supervisor of Elections for that county has the most current totals. Membership in the Republican Executive Committee for each county is also subject to change on a daily basis. Only the officers of the county Party have access to the most timely information.
The Chair of the county Party is required to submit membership changes to the county Supervisor of Elections within 30 days.
